SERVING CHESAPEAKE FOR OVER 40 Years
In December 1984, a group of 30 women became the Chesapeake Pearls, an interest group of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated®. The women became general members. There was no money and no materials. However, there was faith and belief. Today, we are a chapter of over 100 women dedicated to the Service of Chesapeake, Virginia.

The Omicron Pi Omega Chapter has a rich legacy of service to the Chesapeake and surrounding Hampton Roads community for nearly 40 years. We lead and serve through the implementation of civic-minded projects encouraging the five basic tenets of the mission Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated® was founded upon. The Omicron Pi Omega Chapter is Championing Service, Empowering Sisterhood, and Transforming the World under the direction of our International President and CEO is Ms. Charletta Wilson Jacks. The Signature Program for 2026-2030 is AKA Foster the Future: From Here to Hope. The overall agenda and 8 targets include : Target 1- Educational Support & Advocacy; Target 2 – AKA Family Matters; Target 3 – Health Awareness & Well-Being; Target 4 – Economic Growth & Success; Target 5 – Environmental & Sustainability Action; Target 6 – Arts Advocacy & Cultural Awareness; Target 7 – The Global Community; and Target 8 – Undergraduate Impact Program.
